About Us

Oak Park Unified School District is a public TK–12 school district located in Oak Park, an unincorporated community in southeastern Ventura County adjacent to Los Angeles County. The district was established in 1977 after residents voted to create a local school system to serve the growing community.
Today, Oak Park Unified serves approximately 4,300 students from transitional kindergarten through grade 12. The district includes three elementary schools, Medea Creek Middle School, and Oak Park High School, as well as Oak Park Independent School, which provides a TK–12 independent study option, and Oak View High School, which serves students in grades 10–12. Oak Park Unified serves students who live within district boundaries and eligible students from surrounding communities through California’s District of Choice program and interdistrict permits.
Academic achievement remains a longstanding strength of the district. OPUSD students consistently perform at high levels on California state assessments, and district schools have earned recognition at the state and national levels for academic achievement, teaching, Career Technical Education, and other programs.
