District Motto
Educating Compassionate and Creative Global Citizens
The Oak Park Unified School District (OPUSD) motto reflects the values that guide learning in our schools. OPUSD serves a diverse student population where students from different cultures, ethnicities, and backgrounds come together to learn and grow.
Our schools emphasize compassion by helping students understand and respect the experiences and perspectives of others, and by encouraging responsibility toward people, animals, and the environment. Creativity is fostered through inquiry, problem solving, and flexible thinking, supporting students as they apply learning in new and meaningful ways.
Global citizenship recognizes that OPUSD students are part of an interconnected world. Our schools help students understand how local actions connect to global systems and support collaboration across cultures and contexts.
Together, these values describe who our students are becoming and who we are proud to call OPUSD graduates.
