School Plans for Student Achievement
Each school in the district develops a School Plan for Student Achievement, or SPSA. These plans describe how a school will support student learning during the school year. They outline academic goals, the actions the school will take to meet those goals, and how progress will be measured over time.
The SPSA is based on a review of student data such as academic performance, attendance, and school climate. Using this information, schools identify areas for improvement and plan specific strategies to address student needs. The plan also explains how state and federal funds allocated to the school will be used to support these efforts.
School Site Councils develop and update the SPSA each year. These councils include teachers, staff, parents, and, at the secondary level, students. This process ensures that school improvement planning includes multiple perspectives and reflects local priorities.
For families, the SPSA provides a clear picture of a school’s goals and the steps being taken to support student success. It also explains how families can stay informed and engaged in their school community.
