Elementary Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)

Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS) is a progression of targeted interventions to ensure all students excel behaviorally, academically, and social-emotionally.  OPUSD uses Illuminate Education's Fastbridge platform to universally screen students in grades K-5 three times a year in Math and Reading.  A team of educators and paraprofessionals review the screening data, along with classroom data, to identify students needing additional math and/or reading support.  Our Interventionists provide evidence-based interventions in 6-8 week cycles.  Student progress is monitored throughout the intervention periods and students are re-screened during the next screening window.

Secondary Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)

Medea Creek Middle School and Oak Park High School utilize the adaptive online platform IXL to provide targeted support to students in Math (Math 6 - Algebra I) and ELA (grades 6-8). IXL’s Flex Diagnostic identifies each student’s current level of understanding and automatically generates a personalized set of recommended skills aligned to their individual needs. As students work on these targeted skills, teachers can use IXL’s Arena feature to progress monitor learning over time, tracking growth, identifying trends, and adjusting instruction based on real-time data. Together, these tools support responsive instruction by providing clear insight into both where students are and how they are progressing.
