Career Technical Education (CTE)
California’s Career Technical Education (CTE) initiative prepares students for college, career, and life by integrating rigorous academics with real-world, industry-aligned learning experiences. Through sequenced pathways and hands-on coursework, students build technical skills, explore high-demand careers, and graduate with both academic knowledge and practical competencies for future success.

The California College Guidance Initiative (CCGI) provides every California student with equitable access to a comprehensive, state-funded college and career planning platform (CaliforniaColleges.edu) that supports exploration, goal setting, financial aid guidance, and application tracking from middle school through high school. By connecting academic records and personalized tools for students, educators, and families, CCGI helps smooth the transition from K-12 to postsecondary pathways and supports data-informed counseling and planning across districts. More information forthcoming for the 2026-27 school year.
