Superintendent's Office

Fall 2026 Message from the Superintendent
Dear OPUSD Families,
As summer break draws to a close, we look forward to our students and families returning to school on August 5, 2026. Whether your family has been with us for years or you are new to our district, welcome to the 2026–27 school year.
While our students and staff were on summer break, our maintenance crews, support staff, and administrators have been hard at work preparing for the opening of schools. They have been ordering and distributing instructional materials, upgrading facilities, onboarding new teachers and support staff, and refining safety protocols to ensure that your child feels welcome, safe, and ready to learn when they step onto campus.
Looking ahead, we have an amazing year planned. For our elementary students, we will begin using our newly adopted English Language Arts textbooks, pilot new math textbooks in the spring, and integrate dance into the elementary arts curriculum to enrich students’ holistic learning experience. We will also continue to focus on student wellness through our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program.
At our secondary schools, we will pilot new math textbooks, add new elective courses to expand world language options, and offer a pilot Personal Finance course at the high school in preparation for full implementation in 2027-28. Our main objective remains to increase student engagement and connectedness to school.
A strong school district is built on the foundation of active, engaged families. Your partnership and presence at school events are what make this community thrive. We encourage you to stay active in our school loop and keep the lines of communication open.
Thank you for choosing Oak Park Unified and for allowing us to guide your child's academic experience. We look forward to a memorable and successful school year.
Sincerely,
Anais Wenn
Superintendent
