MFA for Students

Beginning Fall 2026 we are transitioning from logging into OPUSD student accounts from Google to Clever MFA for security reasons.

During the month of August, 2026, secondary students can follow the instructions to set up their 2nd factor in Clever. Students can choose one of three simple methods for their second login factor:
- A PIN: A 6-digit number that the student creates and remembers.
- A Picture: chosen by the student when setting up their 2nd factor in Clever.
- A Badge: A unique QR code that the student prints and scans using their computer’s webcam.
Students can follow the steps:
- outlined in this step-by-step document or
- watch the 2 minute video or
- print a copy of the steps.

FAQs

Will students have to use their MFA every time they login to the computer?

What if the student forgets their PIN or their Badge (QR Code)?

Tech Support can also reset it for them.
If a student can’t remember their MFA, teachers can view or reset them from the teacher’s Clever Portal.
If your students are using a Badge for Classroom MFA, teachers can download a class set of Badges by going to Clever Portal → My Students –> Student Roster –> Selecting the class you wish to print badges for.
